Sandstorm
Abilities
His sandstorm damages every enemy standing inside it, so the cover also contests the ground it covers.
His sandstorm heals Sandy and his allies inside it, which makes it somewhere to hold rather than pass through.
Sandy falls asleep for a second and a half and wakes with full health. He cannot act at all while it runs.
His next attack puts enemies to sleep for a second, though damage from any source wakes them immediately.
The next sandstorm also speeds up Sandy and any ally standing inside its radius.
Recommended builds

When the team needs sustain more than damage and will camp inside the storm.
Hot Zone, where a storm on the circle makes contesting it nearly impossible.

A range is the trophy count Sandy was actually on when each match was played, so switching it changes which matches are counted — never how strong the evidence has to be.
Performance by mode
1 modesPlaying Sandy
reviewed 19 Jul 2026A controller whose sand attack pierces in a line and whose Super drops a sandstorm that hides everyone inside it.
Early game
Fire down lanes so the pierce connects with multiple enemies; his Super charges quickly and the first storm should land on the objective.
Positioning
Play at the edge of your own storm where you can see out and they cannot see in, rather than standing in the middle of it.
Using your Super
Drop the storm on the objective your team needs to hold, not on the enemy — its value is concealment over time, not the damage tick.
Common mistakes
- Placing the storm on the enemy team, which hides them rather than your own team
- Standing deep inside the storm where he cannot see the fight either
- Holding the Super instead of maintaining constant storm uptime on the point
- Objective modes where a storm on the point makes contesting it a guessing game
- Chokes, where the pierce hits a whole line of enemies
- Against long-range comps, since the storm removes their ability to aim
By mode

The storm hides a five-man commit through a choke.
