His spray is wider and adds a fourth row of coins, so more of the volley lands at close range.

Gadget
Piggy Bank
20s cooldown

Throws a bank that explodes after a delay, destroying obstacles and knocking back anyone still standing near it.

Coin Shower
18s cooldown

Rains coins over a chosen patch of ground, damaging every enemy inside it once a second.

Tax Rebate
+30% stats while active

His Super passes through walls and enemies, then throws a second wave of notes on the way back to him.

How to counter Griff

Playing Griff

reviewed 19 Jul 2026

A controller who sprays a cone of nine coins that converge up close, so his damage roughly triples as the range shortens.

Early game

Chip from the back only to build the Super; at maximum range two or three coins land and he is doing a fraction of what he is capable of.

Positioning

Just behind the tank at the range where the cone still converges, which is closer than most controllers should be and is the whole risk of playing him.

Using your Super

The banknotes are a wide burst that also rewards short range, so use them on someone already committed to walking at him rather than as a long-range opener.

Common mistakes

  • Spraying from maximum range and charging the enemy Super for them
  • Closing to point-blank against a brawler who out-damages him at that range anyway
  • Firing the Super at a lone target across the map where almost none of it connects
  • Heist, where a wide safe catches every coin in the cone
  • Against tanks, whose size means the spread cannot miss
  • Cluttered maps that let him fight at four or five tiles instead of eight

By mode

Brawl Ball

The cone covers the entire goal mouth from just outside it.

Heist

A full converged cone into the safe is one of the largest single magazines in the mode.
