Abilities
Landing the centre of its hug grants a brief burst of movement speed, and repeat hits stack the effect.
It takes reduced damage for the whole of its incorporeal form, so the wall-phasing window is a safe one.
Its next attack reaches noticeably further, which lets it open on someone who thought they were safe.
Frightens every enemy nearby, slowing them for four seconds on a short cooldown.
Its attack deals double damage for the duration of the Super, turning the reposition into a burst window.
Recommended builds
reviewed 19 Jul 2026Walled maps where passing through terrain puts him behind a line that cannot reposition.
Against teams that turn and focus him the instant he materialises.

A range is the trophy count Shade was actually on when each match was played, so switching it changes which matches are counted — never how strong the evidence has to be.

Playing Shade
reviewed 19 Jul 2026A very fast assassin with a short reach whose Super lets him move through walls and arrive inside a formation.
Early game
Skirmish at the edges and charge without committing, because his 3.67-tile reach means every early trade is one he has to walk into.
Positioning
On the far side of a wall from their backline, which is a position no other brawler can threaten from and the whole reason to play him.
Using your Super
Passing through terrain is a repositioning tool, not damage, so use it to arrive behind a line rather than to run away from a fight he has already lost.
Common mistakes
- Emerging in the middle of all three enemies rather than beside the isolated one
- Spending the Super as an escape and then having no way back in
- Fighting at range, where a 3.67-tile attack does nothing at all
- Walled maps where terrain is what the enemy is relying on for safety
- Against backlines with no area attack to punish an arrival
- Modes where removing one brawler for a few seconds takes the objective
By mode
He arrives at the carrier through the wall the defence thought protected them.
A flank through terrain ends a round that had settled into a standoff.
