Kenji — Brawl Stars
Base statistics
Kenji at power level
Attack and Super
Slashimi
Abilities
The slices of his Super reach further, which widens the area his one big commitment can cover.
After five seconds without taking damage, the next enemy attack against him is heavily reduced.
For three seconds every attack becomes his dash attack, so he can cross a lane in a chain of lunges.
Instantly returns half of whatever health he lost over the previous three seconds.
His Super drags enemies into the middle of the slashes, so nobody is caught by the edge of it.
Recommended builds
reviewed 19 Jul 2026Cluttered maps where every attack doubles as movement towards the next target.
Against comps that focus him the moment he dashes in and refuse to scatter.

A range is the trophy count Kenji was actually on when each match was played, so switching it changes which matches are counted — never how strong the evidence has to be.

Kenji beats
Playing Kenji
reviewed 19 Jul 2026An assassin whose every attack is a short dash, so attacking and moving are the same action and a missed swing is lost ground.
Early game
Dash into chip range and back out rather than committing; his 2.67-tile reach means every attack is also a decision about where he will be standing.
Positioning
Just outside their frontline with cover to dash behind, since he cannot hold ground at range and only ever fights at contact distance.
Using your Super
The slashes reach seven tiles, which is the only time he threatens anything without walking into it, so keep it for a target he cannot otherwise reach.
Common mistakes
- Dashing at a tank, where his damage cannot outpace what walks back at him
- Missing attacks and losing the movement his whole kit is built on
- Diving into all three enemies because the first dash happened to connect
- Cluttered maps where each dash lands behind cover rather than in the open
- Against squishy backliners he can reach in two dashes
- Fights where he can dash out again rather than committing to a stand
By mode
Dashes carry the ball through gaps a walking carrier could never take.
One dive on their opener usually settles the round before it develops.
