Projectile wallRecommended

Against marksmen and throwers, where a beam that eats projectiles removes their entire game.

Star PowerKevlar Vestthe beam pins him in place while he holds it, and standing still is when a 5,000-health tank takes everything
GadgetUtility Beltkeeps the teammate walking behind the beam alive long enough for the push to arrive
GearShieldhe is the first body in every engage
GearSuper Chargethe beam is the whole reason he is drafted
HyperchargePlot Armora beam that survives the volley it was meant to absorb
Front pressureAlternate

Maps where he can walk the beam forward into the enemy lane rather than defend with it.

Star PowerBlockbusterthe beam grows on what it absorbs, so pushing it into a marksman lane is what makes it enormous
GadgetSlo-Mo Replayholds the brawler trying to walk around the beam rather than through it
GearDamagehis cone hits 1,380 at point-blank range
GearSpeeda 5.33-tile cone has to arrive to matter
EscortAlternate

Brawl Ball, where the beam blocks every shot aimed at the carrier walking behind it.

Star PowerKevlar Vesthe holds the beam in front of the carrier and takes the whole defence on himself
GadgetUtility Beltthe carrier cannot shoot back, so their health is the only resource that matters
GearShieldhe is standing still in front of the goal
GearSpeedthe escort has to keep pace with the ball
HyperchargePlot Armorthe beam survives all the way to the net

How to play it

In front of whoever he is protecting and facing the enemy, because the beam only covers the direction he is pointing and he is pinned while it is up.

Point the beam at the biggest source of incoming fire and walk it forward, treating it as territory taken rather than damage dealt.

Common mistakes

  • Raising the beam against a tank whose damage is melee and passes it entirely
  • Standing still with the beam up while an assassin walks around the side of it
  • Using the Super defensively at spawn instead of pushing the lane with it
