Ant swarmRecommended build

Team modes where the ants keep working on the objective while he holds the choke.

Star PowerNew Insect Overlordshis output arrives as a stream of small ant hits rather than one number, so anything applied per ant is applied dozens of times
GadgetFor the Queen!a seven-second cooldown makes it a normal part of his rotation rather than a saved emergency
GearHealtha 3.33-tile attack means he is always in range of theirs
GearSuper Chargethe swarm is his only way of reaching seven tiles
HyperchargeRetreadkeeps the swarm out long enough to matter to the objective
Scout tankRecommended build

Maps where committing blind at 3.33 tiles is how a 5,200-health body gets kited to death.

Star PowerColony Scoutshis attack reaches barely three tiles, so knowing where the fight is before he walks at it is worth more than damage
GadgetWorker Antsa second source of pressure while he covers the ground his attack cannot
GearSpeedat 770 he still has to close the whole distance himself
GearShieldthe approach is where all the damage happens to him
Goal crowdRecommended build

Brawl Ball, where the ants keep pressuring the net while he holds the goal mouth.

Star PowerNew Insect Overlordsa goal-mouth scramble is exactly the shape the swarm punishes
GadgetFor the Queen!available again within seven seconds, which is roughly one attack cycle
GearHealthhe cannot attack while carrying the ball
GearSpeedthe carry is a footrace he has to win
HyperchargeRetreadthe ants hold the net while he lines up the shot

How to play it

At the front of covered ground, since everything he does personally happens within three tiles and the ants are what cover the distance he cannot.

The swarm is sustained pressure rather than burst, so send it at the objective or at a brawler pinned in a fight rather than at someone with a clear line out.

Common mistakes

  • Walking at a marksman across open ground with nothing to close the last tiles
  • Sending the ants at a fleeing target rather than at the point being contested
  • Fighting away from cover, where a three-tile attack never gets used

Reviewed recommendations, not win rates: Brawl Stars never reports which loadout a player had equipped in a match, so nobody can measure one.
