Wall of FrankRecommended build

The default: the biggest body in the game holding a choke.

Star PowerSpongemore health on the brawler whose entire identity is health
GadgetActive Noise Cancelingthe stuns and slows that normally shut him down stop working
GearShieldhe wins by being the last one standing
GearHealthcompounds with Sponge into an unkillable frontline

Aggressive FrankRecommended build

When you need him to convert a stun into a kill rather than just hold ground.

Star PowerPower Grabone kill makes the next swing far more dangerous
GadgetIrresistible Attractionpulls a backline brawler into hammer range
GearDamagehis swing already hits everyone in an arc
GearSpeedhis wind-up is slow, so he has to already be there
Choke holderRecommended build

5v5 Knockout, where his stun on a grouped team is worth several kills.

Star PowerSpongeten players means constant incoming damage
GadgetIrresistible Attractiondrags a clumped enemy team into your five
GearShieldhe is the entrance and has to survive it
GearHealththe more he soaks the longer his team shoots
HyperchargeSeismic Smasha stun on five targets ends the round

How to play it

Stand at the front but around a corner, because his swing has a long wind-up and telegraphs it — he wants to appear at two tiles, not walk in from eight.

Land it on two or three enemies, not one; a stun on a single tank is a waste of the strongest crowd control in the game.

Common mistakes

  • Swinging from max range where the wind-up gives them a full second to walk out of the arc
  • Getting stunned or slowed himself, which cancels his swing entirely
  • Walking at a marksman in the open, where his slow speed makes him free damage

Reviewed recommendations, not win rates: Brawl Stars never reports which loadout a player had equipped in a match, so nobody can measure one.
